This is a mini-mod that should help alleviate the pain of the cell reset bug – this mod allows you to scrap and rebuild Power Armor Frames.

TAKE YOUR ARMOR PIECES OFF THE FRAME BEFORE SCRAPPING IT, OR YOU WILL LOSE THE ARMOR PIECES.

Scrapping a power armor frame will give you a “Power Armor Frame” inventory item that you can use as the “ingredient” to build a brand new power armor frame using the regular workshop interface. I did it this way instead of using standard scrapping components because I didn’t want people building Power Armor Frames out of junk – you will need to scrap a frame in order to build a frame, it’s a 1-for-1 exchange. I would highly advise scrapping all your old frames and building a couple new ones before spending any time scrapping the rest of the Commonwealth.

From what I’ve read, player-built frames are insulated from the cell reset bug just like purchased frames are – I’ve used the EXACT frame that the Atom Cats sell at their garage in my recipe, so it should be good to go. I’ve put the buildable frame into the Build lists next to the Artillery.

As a side benefit, you can now scrap a “stolen” power armor frame that you’ve taken off of a raider or all those Brotherhood guys you’ve stolen cores from, and rebuild it as a clean frame with no big red stolen tag anymore. 🙂
