Scrap Heap – A Junk Mod v1.0

“Hey! More Junk”

Tired of seeing the same old battered clipboards and coffee mugs? Me too! So thats why I made this mod. I added 60+ New Junk Items!

I’ve returned, and have brought something that I’ve been wanting to release for months! My junk mod!

Scrap Heap brings way more fun and diversity into scavenging by adding over 60+ new junk items to Fallout 4’s world.

From utility gear, survival tools, grimy trinkets and pre-war oddities, to just plain old junk! This mod fills out the loot tables to make every desk, drawer, corpse, and trash bin feel fresh again.

Some of the junk items will be rare and catch a handsome price if you sell it.

For example, perfume, beauty soap, and electronics are worth a lot! But some junk will be worthless, like metal cups, or a broken box light.

Every item is “Vanilla-friendly/lore friendly” to seamlessly blend with Fallout 4’s style!

No immersion-breaking models or out-of-place objects, (Like iPhones). Everything is either 50’s to the very early 80’s, but absolutely nothing 2000’s and beyond.

Basically Cold War era and the early years of the aftermath of the Cold Wars (Fallout has an Atom punk style, which is based of the retro-futurism of the early 60’s to late 70’s, so I took my inspiration from that art style)

It adds stuff like (but aren’t limited too), Batteries, wallets, cans of screws, can openers, old toys, coils of wire, oil tins, etc; Basically just plain old junk. And then we have the more “useful” junk, like Robco Ultrasonic sensors, spark plugs, and batteries.

All of the new junk items have been added into the leveled lists! So you will be finding these in containers, on enemies, on vendors, and in other stuff!

I have plans to make some of these junk items usable, like junk rounds into ammo.

Installation
Just click install and use your favorite mod manager (MO2 recommended)
Install manually by dragging files into your Fallout 4 Data folder and overwrite when prompted. (I recommend you don’t do this)

Future Plans
Optional 1k textures for performance users (MAYBE)
Adding some more junk (MAYBE)

Compatibility
Compatible with almost everything
May overlap with major loot overhauls, BUT, load after
Does NOT overwrite any vanilla items (except LL entries)
Let it overwrite any conflicting files if you have any, (but you shouldn’t because I didn’t touch nothing vanilla wise except the LL’s)

FAQ:
Q: Can I scrap these items at the workbench?
A: Yes, they provide components like screws, rubber, gears, and steel

Q: Can I Patch (Mod Name) To Work With Your Mod?
A: Sure!

Q: Can I find these on enemies and vendors too?
A: Yes. Junk items will appear in vendor inventories, on raiders, in Containers, and other places. Their spawn rates are varied, as each item’s spawn rate is different. Optional BOS support planned, and will be posted as an optional patch.

Q: I’m seeing missing textures or purple items or red triangles!
A: That means a texture path didn’t load correctly or the mesh is missing. Make sure you installed the mod properly, and that your mod manager isn’t ignoring loose files. Reinstall if needed and let it overwrite anything. If the problem persists, let me know which item is bugged and I’ll look into it. Please consult the comment section FIRST before you flood my comment section for a problem that could’ve already been fixed.

Q: Can I uninstall this mid-playthrough?
A: Yes. I think.

Q: Is this lore-friendly / immersion-safe?
A: Yes. Every item follows Fallouts Retro Futuristic/Atom Punk aesthetic. No out of place items, no modern designs, nothing post-2000.

Q: Will they spawn right away in a new save?
A: Yes, but I recommend doing the old “wait in the sanctuary bunker” trick. They’re injected into leveled lists via scripts

Q: Will this be available on Xbox or PlayStation?
A: For PlayStation, no. For Xbox? Possibly, Maybe, IDK, Depends on performance/size testing with 1k textures. But if anyone wants to port it sure! Just make sure to notify me if you do it, I won’t be able to help you though because I have no experience in Xbox mods or porting them. I don’t even own fallout 4 on Xbox.

Q: Can you add [Item] A: If it’s modern, no. If it fits fallout, yea sure, find me a model for it

Q: tHiS iTeM iSn’T lOrE fRiEnDlY
A: Cool, remove it yourself. Open Up CK or FO4Edit and remove it from the LLs. I believe in you
