Unofficial Fallout 4 HD Textures Pack (UF4HD) – Architecture (Buildings) v1.1

This modification upgrades building textures to HD quality and changes material parameters to simulate PBR. It also adds a parallax effect for ENB users.

SCENE:
The Lone Wanderer finds z_Pascalion_z on an open platform of a ruined skyscraper overlooking the entire Financial District. Instead of holograms, physical samples are laid out around them: pieces of rusted plating, cracked glass, burned plastic. z_Pascalion_z intently compares them with images on his Pip-Boy.

z_Pascalion_z:
(Without taking his eyes off the screen, speaking in a drawn-out tone)
Brick, concrete, glass, steel… A boring list, right? The game sees only two colors in them: “wall” and “not a wall.” But you see more. That’s why you came.

The Lone Wanderer:
(Examining the samples)
So all of this… is your work?

z_Pascalion_z:
(Nods, brings the Pip-Boy up to a piece of rusted paneling, then shows the screen with a pristine HD texture)
This? This is just the top layer. A pretty picture. Anyone can download Photoshop, bump up the resolution, and call it an “HD pack.” (With a smirk, he sets the device aside.) The real battle starts underneath it.
He opens an obscure interface on the Pip-Boy filled with fragments of code and dozens of sliders.

z_Pascalion_z:
You see, the game is like a careless student. It takes one material for wet asphalt and slaps it onto a dry concrete wall. Takes matte plastic parameters and assigns them to polished steel. There was no common language here. Only chaos.

(Looks straight at the Wanderer)

I didn’t just paint textures. I made these walls, these windows remember who they are. So water flows over metal like metal, not like plastic. So dirt on concrete looks like part of the concrete, not a sticker slapped on top. Redoing textures is only half the job. The second, bigger half is making the materials play by the same rules.

The Lone Wanderer:
And… did you manage it? Create that “common language”?

z_Pascalion_z:
(Runs his hand over the samples; his voice sounds tired but proud)

Ask these walls. Now they all speak the same dialect. Roughness, reflection, light refraction—everything obeys a single law. The law of the real world, not the mess that used to be in the engine.

(Suddenly lets out a hoarse laugh)

And you know what’s funniest? No one will notice it directly. People will just say, “Oh, looks crisp.” But the reason for that crispness is years spent tuning these invisible parameters.
He wipes his hands on his coat and points a finger at the Wanderer.

z_Pascalion_z:
So if you like this new order in the chaos of the ruins—don’t limit yourself to silent gratitude. Send a signal to others. An endorsement. A comment. Let it be a sign that someone here is putting things in order not only on the streets, but in the very foundation of this reality.

(The dialogue ends. A response menu appears.)

“Approve. Working with materials is what true modding really is.” (Endorse +1)
(Intelligence 7+) “You basically rewrote material physics from scratch. Impressive.” (End conversation)
“So all of this is just to remove the gloss from plastic?” (End conversation)
(Evil) Threaten to shove his collection of samples off the roof. (End conversation)

Unofficial Fallout 4 HD Textures Pack (UF4HD is a future comprehensive overhaul of all the game’s textures and materials. At the moment, I’ve decided that the project is still far from complete, and I will be releasing it in individual packs so you can start using it.

What does this mod do?
Unofficial Fallout 4 HD Textures Pack (UF4HD) – Architecture (Buildings) – This modification upgrades building textures to HD quality and changes material parameters to simulate PBR. It also adds a parallax effect for ENB users (this option must be enabled in the ENB settings). This is a comprehensive overhaul of walls, ceilings, beams, and all other elements related to these building types. I changed the textures (redrew ALL of them and added details), improved the normal maps (adding a huge amount of detail), and reworked the reflection system through materials to better simulate PBR.
I fixed ALL discovered issues and added or adjusted hundreds of wetness parameters (they were either missing or incorrect). As a result, the game now looks much more realistic.

A total of 561 textures and 286 materials were modified.

Technical Information:

This mod is provided in two versions:
4K – _d in 4K (BC7), _n in 4K (BC5), _s in 2K (BC5 – BC3) – amazing quality.
2K – _d in 2K (BC7), _n in 2K (BC5), _s in 2K (BC5 – BC3)
Thanks to my saving system, it’s ALMOST like 4K.

The mod is packed into archives for better performance.

For advanced users:
This texture pack contains NEW textures. In case of automatically repacking these textures into the game archives — make sure that all textures have been added!
It also contains modified material files for nearly all objects.
