Better Sun and Stars

A improved take on Fallout’s Sky dome and sun.

The Star’s, for now, only come in 4K & 2K textures with a blue tint. I hope to do different colors down the line. Being essentially little dots, there should be absolutely minimal performance impact at all.

The sun textures are set to be a more realistic sun, but you could add flare with the additional texture included for all the cinematic freaks.

IMPORTANT! The sun textures, like in past Bethesda games, loose their sh*t when you install, so when you install check the ‘ReadMe’ in the SunFix folder and make sure you install the .esp. Instructions in the ‘ReadMe’.

One more thing, the main ‘ReadMe’, yes, there are two, includes Mods with links that will enhance your experience with these mods. They come highly recommended!

I suggest you get Darker Nights, by unformidable,

^This will complement the stars, making them more visible.

I also recommend Fo Texture Overhaul Moons, by Gorgulla,

^A moon retex is not included in my pack… YET. (And this one is fanstatic :D)

Gorgulla also made his take on stars with the vanilla style. I went ahead and did small stars everywhere, with a blue tint… so it doesn’t really look like vanilla at all.

INSTALLATION

Bethesda’s engine seems to always have the same issue when you add a new sun. It becomes BRIGHT, really bright… and blocks out the shape of the sun.
This fix will change the brightness in areas of the sky, and should fix the issue.

– Add this into Fallout 4’s ‘Data’ folder.

– Go to your Local Appdata Folder and find the Fallout4 folder. (usually something like c:\users\username\appdata\local\fallout4\)

– Add: ‘SunFix.esp’ (without the quote) in the plugins.txt file under the line Fallout4.esm

– Make plugins.txt file readonly (right-click on the file -> property -> readonly) otherwise the launcher will reset the change. (You’ll have to change ‘readonly’ when you add more .esp’s.)

– Run the game and, enjoy your glaretastic, aesthetic af, sun.
