Just Curtains
After tons of great armors, weapons, crafting stuff and so on… want something different? Want some nice decorations for your boring FO4 windows?
Wait no more, here it is:
Just Curtains
This mod was born while I was working with aesfocus on the wonderful mod Renovated Furniture. Seeing all these beautiful things I thought it was time for some nice curtains as addition to all these great chairs and couches. So if you are looking for really “new” stuff to build, go check out the mod!
These are 16 new decos for straight (pre war Sanctuary) curtains as well as 16 elegant (Memory Den narrow) ones, you will find them in the crafting menu Decoration – Wall Decoration Misc.
You can mix and match whatever and however you want. There are no curtain-rods (at the moment?) but I edited the meshes to fit as best as I could, so at least you get the impression the curtains hang down from the ceiling. The elegant curtains come in a left- and right-side variation, so you can use the smaller backsides to position them closer to the walls (and it looks a little nicer with the two different frontviews).
BUT:
The straight curtains will work without problems on almost every wall and window. However, if you use them on doorways you should leave a gap big enough to move through – otherwise you will be stuck inside your lovely room forever.
AND:
The elegant curtains are a bit tricky (this is a nice way of saying: a pain in the a…) If you don’t use a mod like
Place Everywhere (which I use myself) or don’t want to fumble around with the console, it will get very frustrating. They weren’t meant to be crafted ingame and I really did my best (with my limited modding knowlegde) to make them work – and they do, but limited. You can use them, but in order to have fun decorating you NEED a free-move-mod. I added an optional no-elegant-curtains.esp just in case you aren’t the adventurous type.
About Homemaker and similar mods:
Since I don’t use Homemaker, I can’t tell you anything about wether or not it is compatible but I did not add new menues and all curtains come with their own meshes. So I guess it should be safe to use, I for example use OC Decorator and it works well with it.

(Although the author of “Just Curtains” feels a little bewildered about the fact that female lone wanderers have to wear schoolgirl outfits or next-to-nothing-outfits, have to look like toy-robots or need boobs bigger than the utter of a cow to be “a hot and nice badass-chick”, as well as all female companions have to look like 16 year old, brain-dead plastic-dolls to count as “finally cute and beautiful”… oh boy… and then curtains – who needs curtains in a post-nuclear nightmare? 😉 )
