Role-play Start – Ex-Military

Description:

When you first meet your character you are informed that you have only recently become a civilian after serving your time in the military. This I thought was a great point to focus on when immersing myself in to the character. I was ex-military, highly trained and always ready for whatever came my way! However, as most games, you start out useless (perk wise). No training, a blank slate with little to nothing carrying over from your pre-nuke days in the military.

I found this was not immersive, I could not explain why I was not skilled in anything. Did the freezer take my training away? Why did I not get to choose background traits or skills that would define me?

This “Mod” (using the word mod very loosely) helps to fix this unknown lose of past training and experiences by allowing you to immersively (kinda) gain back your past skill and dig up your old military gear to help in your journey.

How you ask? Bat command baby!

Each character has a bat file related to there story. They will allow you to “Dig” up your old cache of weapons and gear. Were you buried it? Only you know.

Below you will find brief backstory’s on the characters I have created and suggestions on how to play them. They come with unique perks and gear (nothing to crazy). Each is suggested to be played on Survival as the character will have advantage in set areas. Enjoy!

Quick install/use guide: Download, place txt in your fallout folder where the exe is and the use console command “bat dig” without quotations. This will “DIG” up your old gear and “remind” you of your training. Look on the ground for the armors and weapons as they spawn around you. Endorse?

The Sniper:

You were picked up early in your career because of your seemingly unnatural skill with a rifle. You were placed in a high stress training program which was designed push you to breaking point, teaching you how to hone your skills, how to survive alone and how to thrive with nothing more then your rifle. You stood strong and passed every test that was thrown your way!

You were selected to join an elite squad of fellow snipers who’s mission was simple, Enter enemy territory, stay there, kill any enemy’s that wander in range and do not die! For 3 years you lived like this, you killed close to 200 enemy combatants and were key in many successful operations.

It was a long and difficult time but its over now, your term has ended and you have been back home for almost 11 months. It has been hard adjusting but you feel life is returning to normal, you have a baby boy now, and you are almost ready to go back out in to the world and do normal things.. Like getting a job..

The Heavy Power Armor Pilot:

Stronger and tougher then the average soldier, you were selected to take part in the most deadly but prestigious training a front-line soldier could obtain. Power Armor Training. Your strength, endurance and willpower were all pushed to there limit. Being trained to use Power Armor is an honor only few people get, so you pushed your mind and body beyond anything you thought was humanly possible. You were proud of your achievements and so were your superiors. You past with full mark’s and were shipped to the front line the next day.

You were assigned , along with 4 others, to provide heavy support within a large battalion of soldiers. The Savage Five you were called, and a fitting name it was. With a Gatling weapon called “Shredder” in your hands, your team by your side and a large battalion of soldiers to roll with, you were a forced to be feared! Any enemy that was unlucky enough to get close were torn apart by your melee ability’s, ripping limbs and crushing skulls were common.

However being in the front line comes with losses on both sides. 3 of your team were killed, 1 crushed by there own suit in a freak malfunction and the other 2 hit with high-explosives. You did not come out unscathed ether. One battle, your helmet was ripped of by and enemy who seems to be drugged out of his mind. He slashed at your face with a combat knife until all you saw was red, he did not last long before you ripped him in half. But the damage was done and you were determined to have served well and were honorably discharge before you could meet the same fate as many others on the
front line. You feel like like you have lost a limb, no longer being in the armor..

It was a long and difficult time but its over now, your term has ended and you have been back home for almost 11 months. It has been hard adjusting but you feel life is returning to normal, you have a baby boy now, and you are almost ready to go back out in to the world and do normal things.. Like getting a job..

Front-line Soldier:

Selected and trained to be front-line cannon fodder.. A short life expectancy for most soldiers, however you were not most soldiers. You used you time in training to push yourself further then the rest and it paid off. You learnt how to throw a grenade to do the most damage to the most people, you learnt how to fire a fully automatic rifle with great accuracy. Aside from combat skills, you were also trained to repair and maintain your weapon. This skill, however, was one that served you the most.

You along with many others were shipped to the front line. You were one among many, but you felt very alone. That is until you were assigned to a squad, “Alpha Beast” was the name and among them you found comrades and friends. You would talk about your home, your family’s and hobbies. This seemed to make things easier for you and your squad mates. You were no longer scared, you were part of a team, a family.

Alpha Beast were involved in many battles, each time coming back with more and more victory’s under there belt. It was not long before you become legends on the battle field. There bond was strong and there skills mixed enough to face any situation. You were the teams unofficial repair man. You would take there weapons, clean them, fix them and mod them to be better then any other weapons on the battle field. This gave your squad more confidence and gave you a chance to practice your craft.

It was coming close to the end of your term, it had been 2 years and you and your squad were tougher, deadlier and most importantly, not dead! But all things come to and end, and the end was that day. Alpha Beast were in the thick of battle. Out numbered but as normal, not out gunned. The enemy were flanking and shooting from all sides. It was so chaotic that no-one notices the twinkle of light in the distance.. It was a sniper.

You did not even here the shot, there was nothing you could do.. After one Alpha fell the others were in instant shock. No one had managed to kill any of you all these years. Your friend was dead, the enemy everywhere.. There was little hope for you. You were going to die. Then you saw it, an armored angel was charging toward you. The power armored war machine was to much for the enemy, fleeing as they got torn to shreds by the Gatling gun. He got most of us out that day. 5 left and only 3 of us returned.. It was the end.

It was a long and difficult time but its over now, your term has ended and you have been back home for almost 11 months. The Melee Assassin:

Already skilled in melee combat and the art of sword play, you were chosen for a very special and controversial role. You were chosen to be an Assassin. Trained in Stealth and Infiltration, you were molded to be a silent and deadly killer. Even though the training was one of the most difficult available, you found it easy. You passed all expectations. You were the perfect trained killer.

Assigned many hits over your time with the Covert military, none seemed hard. 1 target 1 kill. You always got your man or women no matter who you were asked to eliminate. Your skill made you a legend, and a feared ghost. The enemy told story’s of the shadow ghost that killed without sound or trace. The story’s gave the allies spirit and broke the enemy’s. You had become more then an Assassin, you had become the thing the enemy feared the most, the reason they could not sleep at night.

You killed hundreds and gave fear to thousands, but in the end you were just doing you your job, you were just doing what you were good at, but you did not enjoy it.. You were never caught, never injured, never seem or heard. Then it all ended, you were honorably discharged for your service and the record stated you were a first class Mechanic. The Scientist:

With your high grades and obvious intellect you were snatched up and placed straight in a lab with other scientists. There would be no training, no combat and no risk. Just Science!

For 2 years you worked on top secret weapons, chem’s and armors. You pumped out so many advances in fields that you got placed as head scientist. You used this opportunity to delve in to fields of your own interest, such as gamma technology and energy weapons. Your team assisted in creating the next generation of gamma weapons. These guns served well in the front lines but were costly so one a few were made. You were lucky enough to get one as a gift for your work.

Although you knew you were helping to create weapons that bring only death you found a little comfort that the poor people on the front lines will have a better chance in surviving the war.

It was a long and difficult time but its over now, your term has ended and you have been back home for almost 11 months.
