To Cook a Cat – A Fallout Recipe

To put it simply, according to a past Fallout game cats were hunted for food. When your survival depends on what you can catch and eat, the common house cat turns from pet to sustinence. Fallout 4 introduces cats to the Commonwealth with a particular drop, cat meat. There is also a vendor with a whole place filled with cats that sells cat meat but Bethesda never introduced a use for it. That’s where this mod comes in. Everything you kill from fearsome deathclaws, radscorpions, to a bloatfly can be cooked and consumed. Yes, even man’s best friend a dog. You can make hound chops from mutant dogs and ghoulified dogs. Yet Bethesda left out recipes or any known use for cat meat.
Installing the mod you get the following recipes and items at your local cooking pot:
Cat Kabob – ROAST
Requires: 1x Cat Meat, 1x Wood
Effect: Provides +1 to Agility for 5 minutes.
Cat Stew – STEW
Requires: 1x Cat Meat, 2x Dirty Water, 1x Tato, 1x Carrot, 1x Bloodleaf
Effect: Highlights living targets for 5 minutes.
This mod’s design is solely for immersion purposes, I wouldn’t call it a fix or something left out by Bethesda but an addition to something rooted within Fallout’s lore since the second game. This mod was created using FO4Edit, no records were changed/altered from the vanilla game. Only recipes and items were added.

Q: Why did you make this mod?
A: In another mod author’s page about being able to play as a cat one user replied in response to mine that cat meat could not be cooked. I never gave it thought before but it’s true, Fallout 4 lets you cook every animal or creature you kill and use it somehow. If that doesn’t work for you then just take it as I was bored and just felt like it because… reasons.
Q: Will you make more recipes?
A: Probably not, I just threw this mod together in the period of a single evening. In my own personal playthrough I don’t even kill cats so the recipes won’t ever be used by me. But if you have an idea for a recipe or want to see one added leave a comment.
Q: When Survival Mode is released will you update these items to supplement your needs?
A: Yes, most likely.
Q: Can I update/change your mod/add it to my own mod/translate it?
A: You can do what you like with the mod as long as you make certain to credit me and leave a link back to this one. I honestly don’t expect this one to get much interest but if you like it go ahead.
Q: What is with the other verisons?
A: I’m leaving those up as the original versions of this mod. After harassment I decided I had enough and remodeled the description page and name of the mod. Apparently some people can’t understand a joke, despite I put this mod together for their enjoyment more than my own.
