Exagonum (Assault gas mask)
Hello there this is my first upload to the Nexus so I am quite excited to release this texture replacement\overhaul for the default assault gas mask found within the game (accessible at quite an early level when looting raiders).
The texture was inspired by Bohemia Interactive’s Arma 3 camo for the CSAT faction. I manually recreated the texture using vector graphics and hand brushed, dirt and a cloth overlay. I kept the duct tape marks from the original texture and made some adjustments to the color of the front of the mask such as making it darker to keep people hid for those who prefer the stealthy gameplay, and to suit the rest of their armour. I also added a small touch to the glasses of the mask to make it look more interesting.
I hope you enjoy the texture overhaul, and feel free to give some criticism, or give suggestion on how to improve on this, or things I could add, such as a standalone so that it can be continued to be used, because at this stage the default Assault Gas mask only has an armour rating of 1.
INSTALLION notes
Make sure that you’ve enabled texture ovewrites in your data folder by going to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4
there you will find a Fallout 4.INI file
Open the file and scroll down to the [Archive section]
to this line:
sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\
add a “, TEXTURES\” (if you plan to add other mods such as meshes\materials… just add them the same way, and remember to write them in CAPS)
save the file and exit.
Once you’ve done that browse, browse to your Fallout 4 directory and extract the downloaded file in there.
FINALLY run the game, and now if you get your hands on an Assault gas mask, you can equip it and walk through the wasteland like a 2033 soldier
of an alternate universe, that surely knows your style.
