Did you, like me, love the look of the Spike and Cage armor in Fallout 4 but did you find it a bit lacking in the defense department?

Bethesda thought it would be a good idea to make the coolest armor worthless. You can’t put on ANY other clothing or armor pieces if you don’t use any mods and in return you get a very lousy protection value from wearing it.

I was tired of waiting for somebody else modding this for me (sometimes I’m lazy, hehe) so I did it myself. I hope you like it as much as I do. 🙂

WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO?
This mod changes the defensive values of both the Spike Armor and the Cage Armor (and their Helmeted version). Besides the defense boost I also gave them a SPECIAL boost, don’t worry it’s nothing major or game breaking. It gives them more Ballistic, Energy and Radiation Protection (Helmeted version).

Changes made:

SPIKE ARMOR:
Balistic Defense: 10 to 25 -(2.5x)
Energy Defense: 12 to 30 -(2.5x)
Effect: +1 Agility

HELMETED SPIKE ARMOR:
Balistic Defense: 13 to 32 -(2.5x)
Energy Defense: 15 to 37 -(2.5x)
Radiation Defense: 0 to 15 (It has a gas mask look)
Effect: +1 Agility and +1 Perception

CAGE ARMOR:
Balistic Defense: 24 to 60 -(2.5x)
Energy Defense: 27 to 67 -(2.5x)
Effect: +1 Endurance

HELMETED CAGE ARMOR:
Balistic Defense: 28 to 70 -(2.5x)
Energy Defense: 35 to 87 -(2.5x)
Radiation Defense: 0 to 15 (It has a gas mask look)
Effect: +1 Endurance and +1 Perception

Versions:
S.C.A.R – Armor Redone = The Basic version. It just adds the protection boost and the SPECIAL boost
S.C.A.R – Armor Upgradeable = The Advanced version. This will give you the option to upgrade the armor at any armor station/bench.
S.C.A.R – Legendary Upgrade = The Epic version. You need THIS mod by teaLz. This adds the same as the Advanced version PLUS you can give it a legendary effect.

S.C.A.R – Cheat_Legendary = The Cheat version of the above mentioned Epic version. Made on request. This doubles the defensive stats that are listed above. Consider this the unbalanced version. This also needs THIS mod by teaLz in other to work! (if you want to add your own legendary effect). If you don’t download the required mod then nothing bad happens. There will be a chance that the armor COULD drop with legendary effect.

S.C.A.R – Predator_Legendary = The same version as the Legendary Upgrade (with same requirements) PLUS it adds predator vision which will let you see targets highlighted in red when sneaking (only enemies)… Awesome!!!

To get the new predator armor you have to use the console to give the items to you. This is because for the time being we cannot place items in the loot list or merchant lists. To get the armor press the ~ (tilde) key on your keyboard when ingame.

Type: help predator 4

You will see a list. Find the version of armor you want (Predator Cage or Predator Spike).

Type: player.additem {the item ID} 1
THEN PRESS ENTER!

TAKE ONLY ONE MAIN FILE!
PLACE LAST IN LOAD ORDER TO AVOID PROBLEMS WITH OTHER ARMOR MODS!

HOW TO INSTALL?

With NNM:
step 1: Go to the “file” tab and click on “Download with manager” under the file description.
step 2: NMM will now startup (if not already). Follow any instructions it gives you.
step 3: It will automatically install the mod in the right place.
step 4: You are done, enjoy the game !

Manual:
Step 1: Go to the “file” tab and click on “manual” under the file description.
Step 2: You will now download the file in .zip format. Place this on your desktop.
Step 3: Unpack the .zip using either 7zip or Winrar. Use the option: Extract to “name of file”.
Step 4: You now have a folder on your desktop with the same name as the downloaded zip file.
Step 5: Open the folder and copy the contents to your Fallout 4 install directory (location).
Step 6: The FO4 Install dir can be found at (steam): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
Step 7: When you have copied the files start the FO4 launcher and you are done! Hit start and enjoy the game!

INFO:

You can check if the mod is activated by clicking on the bottom of the “handle bar” on the left side of the helmet inside the launcher. See picture for the accurate location.
